The Vietnam Festival is the largest Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange event in Japan, and is held at Yoyogi Park, Tokyo. There are live performances of Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional dress), traditional performing song and dance troupes, and Vietnamese performing artists, as well as many booths from Vietnamese restaurants and goods shops.

Teej is a women’s festival held in Nepal. Nepalese women dress in their beautiful red saris, fast to honor Lord Shiva, the god of creation and destruction. Women fast during the day, and those that are married pray for the longevity of their husbands. If they are unmarried, they pray to meet a good companion and obtain a happy marriage.

Myanmar’s New Year celebration, Thingyan Festival, is coming to Hibiya Park this April with plenty of activities, attractions and delicious Burmese food. At this festival, people energetically pour water on each other in order to exorcise the misfortunes of the year. The festival features Myanmar food stalls and booths selling textiles and general goods, as well as special sweets shared when celebrating the New Year.

Havriin Bayar (Mongolian Spring Festival)
Havriin Bayar is held annually in May to celebrate Mongolian culture, art, and more generally strengthen cultural understanding between Japan and Mongolia at Hikarigaoka Park every year during Golden Week.
